Question:

What is the Guarded Tablet? What is the significance of this tablet

Answer:

The Guarded Tablet (Lawh-i-Mahfūz), as mentioned in the Qur’ān (85:22), is a tablet in which the Qur’ān is safely written and lies in the custody of the Almighty.

To understand the significance of this, one must try to understand the reason for which it has found mention in the Qur’ān. The context of 85:22 is that the Qur’ān is not the work of some evil spirit, jinn or soothsayer, as its opponents were alleging at that time. It is the work of God. No one is able to tamper with its contents during the period of its revelation. It is well guarded and well protected in a tablet placed in the supervision of the Almighty.
